The Measurability of Subjective Animal Welfare

One of the most challenging questions surrounding subjective animal welfare is whether these states are measurable: that is, an appropriately quantifiable target for scientific enquiry and ethical deliberative calculation? The availability several different types measurement scale raises important regarding experience has right properties to be meaningfully represented on required applications. This methodological question so far received scant attention in literature. In this paper, I address omission by examining we can reasonably expect apply measurements, which will actually need our argue applications require variously ordinal, interval, ratio scales, have sufficient reason believe a with appropriate characteristics justify practice representing it using each scales.
